Job Description

Position Summary:

The President of Bioanalytical Operations is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost effective operations of the EPBS St. Charles service business to meet the customer requirements, project deadlines and the annual revenue and profit plan. This position is responsible for ensuring the services are delivered to clients in alignment with corporate and governmental regulatory, quality, environmental and safety standards. This position is responsible for achieving the company P&L.

This position is primarily responsible for:

--- Designing key strategies to enhance and streamline overall operations. Designing and developing operational processes and procedures. Maintaining documentation of operations plans such as policies, budgets, and staffing.

--- Hire employees, mentor and advise, promote employees, assign and evaluate work, terminate employees, review performance annually, set pay.

This role requires significant leadership and management experience to oversee an operational team of approximately60 staff

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Senior leader of operations for the Bioanalytical Services, providing leadership for the overall operating performance of the business and responsibility for customer management and satisfaction.
  • Evaluates operational processes and procedures, and develops strategies andimplementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operations at a global level.
    • Develops monitors and administers finances to maintain efficient, quality services.
    • Selects and implements business systems and software to best meet global operational needs of the business.
    • Oversees and manages to monthly, quarterly and annual operational budget.
    • Forecasts resources to meet revenue needs. Makes decisions on resource strategies and implements accordingly.
    • Develops business requirements to meet customer project needs.
    • Assesses technology and systems to support market trends and customer requirements.
    • Implements operational strategies across sites to insure process excellence and customer satisfaction.
    • Works cloesly with Sales team to assess customer needs and plan operations to meet project requirement and timelines.
    • Interacts routinely with customers to define operational strategies for the client projects and assure customer satisfaction.
    • Responsible for the supervision, organization, and coordination of all technical activities of personnel responsible for customer projects.
    • Provides the necessary planning, organization, direction, and control to meet the global strategic operation goals of the company
    • Establishes and maintains professional business relationships with global clients, industry officials, and peers.
    • Supports operationally the global marketing strategies and maintains an influential position in establishing global business expansion plans.
    • Assists in assessment of M&A targets and takes key role in establishing integration and operational plans.
    • Oversees the demand planner function and scientific staff to prepare operations plans to meet sales plans and oversee management of materials to achieve supply and demand inputs. This includes assessing and defining the service operational plan to achieve defined business goals.
    • Develops appropriate supply metrics for the business segment and provide monthly KPIs and action plans and recommendations.
    • Leads the Supply review for the business segment cross regions. Defines resource requirements to achieve demand requirements and profitability goals.
    • Directs and manages the planning and procurement functions. Establishes and develops procedures for daily operations in accordance with established policies and procedures and outside governing agencies.
    • Responsible for the overall operational success of the laboratory, which includes, but is not limited to: P&L, monthly reporting, business forecasting, budgeting, making decisions on capital expenses, managing senior staff, attending to major client needs, revenue & profit growth, and cost control.
    • Continually assesses and develops operating procedures and processes to achieve maximum efficiencies for the business utilizing and directing process excellence methodology and resources. Defines and leads process improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency providing for current and future needs.
    • Responsible along with President for development, implementation and achievement of annual operating plan.
    • Actively participates in the business field and site leadership team, responsible for operations and related services in a manner consistent with quality standards to ensure adequate supply available to meet demand at the lowest cost, on schedule, and in the most efficient and safest manner.
    • Responsible for compliance with governmental and regulatory standards by sustaining quality personnel, processes and procedures that understand and support corporate business goals and to ensure continual professional development of all employees.
    • Supervises the site management and facilities.
    • Directs the development and implementation of, and ensure appropriate compliance with operational policy and procedures. Develops training programs and implement with corporate resources.
    • Communicates a clear and concise vision to operation personnel, driving the cultural changes required by the Corporation and motivating others to seek challenges and excel.
    • Creates and implement performance standards and measurements for customer satisfaction, quality, productivity, safety, environmental compliance and financial results and define, implement, and control productivity metrics and measurements to ensure optimal productivity and superior internal customer service and monitor and coach employees to perform to key performance metrics. Monitors and controls costs, output and other measures with KPI's.
    • Investigates, defines and implements process improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance for driving down costs while utilizing and acquiring corporate resources to assist in this endeavor. Sets up and monitor metrics to evaluate improvements and cost savings.
    • Assures the site is permitted for and complying with all applicable regulatory and safety requirements
    • Develops and prepares reports and records concerning departmental work activities, progress, status and special reports. Leads the supply review for the business field.
    • Keeps abreast of technical developments that may impact the service business and provide recommendations to site to divisional organization on current trends and practices.
    • Manages the implementation of new functions required to support current and future products. Works with site leadership to ensure that all performance, projects, and supply plans are met.--- Monitors and controls costs, output and other measures with KPI's.

      --- Manages and coordinates the daily operation of all services working with the scientific directors and study coordinators; plans and directs the work of supervisors and subordinate staff.

      --- Implements technology transfer and service introduction as defined by marketing and scientific directors.

      --- Ensures that validation and troubleshooting of new and existing technologies and instrument platforms are carried out according to established policies and procedures.

      --- Responsible for planning space, equipment and staffing to accommodate all production requirements.

      --- Ensures validation of relevant processes with departmental and corporate partners

      --- Works with Quality support the implementation of the necessary systems to ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA/OHSA and other regulations to assure production meets established quality, environmental and regulatory specifications.
