Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing and/or coordinating preparation of full estimates on large and complex work. This would include providing complete conceptual and final estimating input on complex construction management work or complete total bid price for general contracting work. Heavy involvement with owners, architects/engineers and contractors is required to resolve technical matters during negotiation and contract execution. Job Details ? Conduct detailed quantity surveys on self-performed work and portions of complex projects ? Make detailed specification and drawing review ? Assist Preconstruction Director with quantity take-off, pricing and bidding of projects ? Price necessary work items ? Review labor costs and production ? Work with bid team to review documents to resolve questions and issues ? Solicit subcontractors, suppliers or specified manufacturers and monitor responses ? Attend Pre-Bid Meetings ? Assist in setting up alternates and unit prices ? Monitor and cultivate minority participation ? Review the project construction schedule and assist in preparation of the General Conditions ? Ensure adequate subcontractor solicitation during bidding process ? Travel to attend and participate in necessary meetings, client/partner visits or events ? Take and analyze bids on bid day to ensure complete scopes ? Setting up “yellow sheets” on bid day ? Assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation to Owner ? Update subcontractor solicitation list ? Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractor and vendor community ? Aid field operations with change order pricing ? Mentor new team members ?
