eligible to work in the US. Your Role: As a Development Scientist
in our BioMonitoring R&D team, you will be instrumental in
enhancing our food pathogen diagnostics portfolio. You will support
development projects, drive innovative research, and contribute to

In this role you will travel up to 10% domestic and
internationally. Physical Attributes: • Lift up to 20 lbs. Who You
Are: Minimum Qualifications: • PhD in Microbiology, Molecular
Biology, Biochemistry, Agricultural or Environmental Sciences. • 3
years of Life Science or Biotechnology experience. OR • Master’s
degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry,
Agricultural or Environmental Sciences. • 5 years of Life Science
or Biotechnology experience. • 3 years experience working
independently on multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications: • BSL-2 Lab experience. • Experience with
Molecular Detection Assay Development including development,
certification, launching of an assay used in the capture,
detection, or identification of microbial cells and experience with
AOAC, ISO, or other regulatory agencies, and established reference
methods. • Experience in Growth, Isolation and Identification of
Bacterial Pathogens including expertise in isolating and accurately
identifying various zoonotic pathogens using standard
microbiological techniques and methodologies. • Experience in the
controlled inoculation of samples with foodborne pathogens for
research and testing purposes, ensuring precise and replicable
results. • Expertise in microbial interactions, biofilms, bacterial
physiology. • Molecular Identification and Characterization of
Bacteria including developing and employing molecular techniques,
such as NGS, for the identification and characterization of
bacteria at a genomic level. • Experience with Polymerase Chain
Reaction (PCR) optimization and troubleshooting, qPCR, or digital
PCR. • Experience in immunochemistry or similar techniques for
ensuring high specificity and sensitivity in bacterial detection
assays. • Experience in Bacterial Cell Culture Medium Development
including bacterial physiology, metabolomics, genomics, for
selection of antibiotics and metabolites for target enrichment and
optimization of culture media formulation to enrich target
bacterial species. • Experience working with the following
pathogens in various food products: Shiga toxin-producing
Escherichia coli (STEC), Cronobacter spp., Listeria, Salmonella,
Bacillus spp. • Experience in hygiene monitoring, environmental
sampling, bioburden assessment. • Experience in project leadership,
experimental planning, data interpretation, and proposing next
steps to management. • Experience writing technical reports and
technical presentations, performing statistical analysis and
interpretation of data. • Strong motivation, communication,
leadership, attention to detail, and team mindset.
