About the Position Strategy Development Consultant (ZA1754) About The Position The Strategy Development and Deployment team uses Hoshin planning and other advanced strategic development methods to help Ameren Business units tie to Ameren's corporate strategy and align strategies between business units. The Strategy Development Consultant assists in driving this process forward, through analysis, facilitation, review, debate and engaging business partners. Key responsibilities include: * Assist with the development of strategy using a data-driven, hypothesis-driven approach which includes, but is not limited to Hoshin planning and Balanced Scorecard methods. * Create and develop graphics that articulate strategic insights and document a strategy group's work. Translate ambiguous concepts into understandable graphics, creating executive-level quality strategy presentations. * Conduct and present industry analysis which helps business leaders understand their organization's comparative performance. * Facilitate small groups with strategic development approaches, develop deliverables and execute processes that outline strategic options. * Defend strategic insights through critical review and debate, and have the ability to engage senior members of business groups that may not be aligned. * Facilitate groups to solutions that are imaginative, thorough, and aligned with Ameren's and business line's strategic objectives, leveraging insights from qualitative and quantitative data and the Hoshin strategy process. * Collaborate and engage at various levels of the organization, including direct support of senior leaders. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university is required, preferably in an analytical discipline such as engineering, science, or business. Five or more years of experience in general business, operations, business development, sales, marketing, etc. required. Two or more years of experience as part of a strategy or benchmarking analysis team that systematically identifies gaps in corporate strategy and outlines options to create breakthrough objectives required. Working knowledge of Hoshin planning methods preferred. Experience in developing long-term strategies is preferred. Utility experience preferred. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Ability to understand Ameren's corporate objectives and its respective businesses, and lead teams across functional boundaries to ensure strategic alignment and integration across Ameren. The role requires the ability to collaborate on a daily basis with business lines to generate key strategic analysis, apply critical thinking across complex business challenges, and present and defend analytical insights to senior leaders.
