About the role: We are currently seeking an IT Infrastructure Operation Senior Analyst at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO Reporting to the Sr. Manager - IT Services this role Oversees operational processes supporting Peabody's IT environment both on premise and in the cloud to ensure the environments perform within defined service level agreements. The position will work closely with the Engineering team, End User Computing, and managed service partners to configure and manage processes around deployment, decommissioning, patching and updates, software packaging, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, alerting, incident resolution, and cost management. Duties will include: Oversees IT related operations processes to meet service level agreements for service availability and performance Monitors execution of predefined standard operating procedures Identifies operational problems by observing and studying the functioning and performance of systems Provides operational management information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operating and engineering trends Oversees seamless process of implementation of new hardware, software, and maintenance releases housed internally or in the cloud Oversees development of patching schedules for infrastructure Implements governance processes as they pertain to Operations activities including reviews and change control procedures Identifies opportunities and coordinates on efforts to automate manual processes Suggests tools and relate implementation to engineering teams regarding cloud based services. Assess overall operational performance and recommend improvements Develop cost improvement proposals and coordinate on efforts to implement Develops operational solutions by defining, studying, estimating, and testing alternative approaches Support development of relevant IT policies and practices Ensure all technical procedures (SOP's, Configuration, run books) are documented and updated and are contributing to the maintenance of operational standards Ensures that Level 1/2 resource activities are properly accounted for and documented by the appropriate tower Evaluates best practices for maintenance and design including standard Change Management processes Coordinates change control into the production environment, assesses impact, and communicates with all stakeholders and Managed Service Provider Develops enhancements to business continuity (BC) and disaster recovery (DR) programs by delivering cost effective recovery solutions, developing specific disaster recovery tests and success criteria, and developing methods and procedures that meet business service level agreements Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations Protect enterprise information to maintain the level of information security risk acceptable to the enterprise in accordance with the security policy The lifestyle: This position is a full-time role based at our corporate office. About you: BS Computer Science or related field 3+ year IT infrastructure expertise Infrastructure expertise in areas such as ITIL, servers, databases, storage, backup and recovery, package deployment, etc Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud computing technologies and concepts Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts at all levels including Executive Leadership, IT leadership, Line Manager, and Individual contributor Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives. Analyses, designs, plans, executes and evaluates work to time, cost and quality targets. Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people, process and systems with the ability to think and act strategically and proactively. Advises on the available standards, methods, tools and applications relevant to own specialism and can make appropriate choices from alternatives. Maintains an awareness of developments in the industry. Takes initiative to keep skills up to date. Mentors colleagues. Ability to quantify risks in IT solutions and communicate to other executives how to manage that risk Proactively ensures security is appropriately addressed within their area by self and others.
