Job SummaryThis position is responsible for helping oversee the administration of Charter's workers' compensation claims management program. The Claims Analyst will assist in mitigating company's risk by formulating, developing, reviewing and coordinating claims related activities in conjunction with internal and external partners.Major Duties And ResponsibilitiesActively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experienceWork with the Third Party Administrator (TPA) claims adjusters and Risk Management team to ensure proper and efficient handling of claims in a multi-state environment; Charter operates in 41 statesHelp achieve equitable, cost efficient case resolution by optimizing company resources for most favorable outcomes, timely resolution of cases, and appropriate use of medical and investigation resourcesProvide reserve and settlement authority to TPA within designated limits, escalating all appropriate matters as requiredWork closely with internal and external partners to assess potential liability and assist in resolution while coordinating with Charter stakeholders as part of the claims management process to ensure the proper processes are followedSecure information and evidence from the operating business units regarding liability and/or workers' compensation claimsReview and assess subrogation potential of all claimsAttend or arrange for representation at trials or claims mediations, as neededParticipate in claim audits of Third Party AdministratorsCoordinate and participate in claim reviews for all operating business unitsMonitor and report injury trends and assist developing appropriate interventions for illness/injury awareness, detection, prevention and early treatmentPursue appropriate educational opportunities to maintain professional competence and certification requirementsAssist in special projects as directed by the Risk Management teamTravel as needed, although expected to be minimalPerforms other duties as requestedRequired QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities and KnowledgeAbility to read, write, speak and understand EnglishAbility to analyze and interpret large volumes of dataAbility to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward mannerAbility to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel, as well as attorneysAbility to investigate and make liability determinationsAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressureAbility to manage multiple projects at one timeAbility to negotiateAbility to prioritize and organize effectivelyAbility to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job dutiesAbility to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets)Ability to work independentlyKnowledge of subrogation, litigation and general lawKnowledge of office procedures and the operation of standard office equipmentAbility to use Microsoft Office productsRequired EducationBachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience ARM, AIC or equivalent designationRequired Related Work Experience And Number Of YearsProperty and Casualty Adjuster experience - 3-5Liability Claims Representative experience - 3-5Preferred EducationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSProperty and Casualty Claims HandlingArson and Fraud InvestigationLiability InvestigationPreferred Related Work Experience And Number Of YearsWorkers' Compensation Analyst experience in a TPA or corporate environment; multi-state experience - 3-5WORKING CONDITIONSThis role offers a hybrid work scheduleOffice environmentGet to Know Us Charter Communications is known in the United States by our Spectrum brands, including: Spectrum Internet -, TV, Mobile and Voice, Spectrum Networks, Spectrum Enterprise and Spectrum Reach.
