As a business data analyst at BBB, you'll conduct analysis, identify trends, provide insights and tell compelling stories with data to help drive process improvements and business decisions. Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, you'll have the opportunity to improve processes and have a voice that's heard by decision makers. Better Business Bureau (BBB) is a purpose-driven, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers trust each other. We're more than one hundred-years old with a start-up attitude. Primary duties and responsibilities
    • Learn and understand BBB's structure, policies, and operations in order to recommend solutions that help increase the number of Accredited Businesses and consumer usage of our services.
    • Collect requirements, determine technical issues, mine, compile, analyze, interpret data related to current and future operations.
    • Extract and analyze data from a variety of sources such as external market data and internal data sources to assess trends and develop actionable insights and recommendations.
    • Sift through information on the internet to find data from reputable sources.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytic systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks.
    • Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization.
    • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, developing and maintaining protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data.
    • Draw on data, best practices and previous personal experience to propose new strategies for successful business changes.
    • Create reports, charts, graphs and presentations to aid in recommendations.
    • Effectively communicate findings to leaders and key stakeholders.
    • Identify and recommend new (or alternative uses of existing) technology, data sources and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Systems VP of Operations/Administration and VP of Marketing/Communications, and President/CEO. Experience, Skills and Abilities
      • 3-5 years of data analysis and business experience
      • Four-year college degree preferred in analytics or related field preferred
      • Structured Query Language (SQL), Python and R programming concepts knowledge
      • Use of Microsoft 365 or similar platform, demonstrated capability in Word, Power BI and Power Automate and advanced Excel skills
      • Presentation skills and experience using data visualization software such as Tableau
      • Continuous improvement experience or certification such as Six Sigma
      • Responsive internal customer service skills
      • Quickly identify business problems/opportunities
      • Understanding of the latest technologies to improve processes and accelerate insights
      • Experience in analyzing and interpreting business data
      • Demonstrated ability to turn data into actionable insights
      • Organize and prioritize multiple projects and priorities
      • Handle confidential information with integrity
      • Communicate clearly in verbal and written communication with all levels of staff
      • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
