Position SummaryAs a Senior Technician Quality (Inorganic/Proximate), you'll be responsibility for safely and efficiently processing customer sample analysis requests. With training you'll develop a good understanding of basic chemical principles that serve as the foundation of food and feed analysis. You'll have ownership of a select set of assays that they perform and report daily.
You will be responsible for preparing all reagents and standards as needed and keeping all documentation that is required in a GLP laboratory and understand and adhere to all safety practices and procedures in place within Nestle Purina Petcare Company and NP Analytical Laboratories.

  • Schedules and conducts a variety of assays
  • Maintains required documentation on worksheet and quality control logs and summarizes quality control data required
  • Conducts documented non-routine procedures as required
  • Calibrates, preforms preventative maintenance, troubleshoots, and repairs lab instruments
  • Reviews results, service time, and priorities to ensure proper scheduling and turnaround times are meet.
  • Understands and communicates the risks and hazards of laboratory chemicals and equipment.
  • Work safely and contribute to a safe and orderly working environment
  • Complies with all PPE requirements
  • Identifies and corrects unsafe behaviors and activities
  • Receive submitted samples/service requests and Initiate assay workflow/traceability and report results into the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
  • Act impartially, and work in accordance with the NPAL quality management system
  • Manages prioritization of submitted samples
  • Possess the ability to maintain equipment, repair minor problems and perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting procedures as outlined in operating procedures and instrument control plans.
  • Excellent time management skills to optimize schedule and prioritize work in accordance with requested specifications
    • Bachelor's degree in science related field
    • 6 months working in an Analytical laboratory, including the following: running atomic absorption instrumentation, segmented flow analyzers (Automated colorimetric testing), Mycotoxin analysis (including Aflatoxin and Vomitoxin), and bench chemistry (including sample extraction, titrations)
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for applications (VBA) is preferred
    • Experience with working within an ISO accredited laboratory and QA systems that include Corrective Actions/Root Cause Investigations (CA/RCI), and associated documentation requirements is preferred
