Job Description:

Visionary Eye Care and Surgery is looking for an Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe to join our growing team Duties include scribing with the physician and also working as a technician performing auto/manual refractions, IOL masters, HRT's and visual fields. Experience with NextGen a plus. This position requires local satellite office travel during regular business hours. Cross training and covering other positions as needed is required. Candidate must be a team player, detailed oriented and possess excellent customer service skills. This is a full time position, Monday - Friday, from 8:00am till 4:30pm. No Weekends As an ophthalmic technician in our state-of-the art practice, you will be: Skilled at problem solving. Proficient at working with a computer. Skilled in communication, both written and verbal. Able to self-direct. Highly motivated and able to multi-task. Able to work under pressure in a high-paced environment. Flexible in job assignment. Experienced in a fast-paced clinic environment. Efficient and accurate at interviewing patients and documenting histories. Able to ensure charts are updated and accurate. Demonstrating a working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease and ocular medications. Experienced with HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers, Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting. Proficient with EMR computer programs; NextGen experience a plus. Performing general duties and other functions as required or assigned. Career-minded looking for a position with longevity. We are looking for someone who has a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in a related field is highly preferred. Ideally, you will have at least two years of experience as a technician in a successful ophthalmology practice and/or having your COA certification is a big plus Our team works very closely together, so ability to work well with others, eagerness to learn and a focus on patient care is key.
