Transforming Trauma CareThe Trauma Performance Improvement
Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of care for
trauma patients at SSM Health. Reporting to the Trauma Program
Manager, this individual will identify areas for improvement,
develop and implement action plans, and evaluate their
effectiveness.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the continuous improvement of the trauma program, ensuring
timely evaluation and implementation of performance improvement
plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and
maintain a trauma registry, identifying opportunities for
improvement and documenting issues.
- Assist in coordinating trauma performance improvement
committees and ensure compliance with American College of Surgeons,
National Trauma Data Standards, and Trauma Outcomes and Performance
Improvement (TOPIC) objectives.
- Develop quality filters, audits, and case reviews to identify
trends and sentinel events, and create focused review presentations
for PI filters exceeding established thresholds.
- Participate in professional development and educational
activities to enhance skills and knowledge of trauma care and data
information systems.Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent
education for licensure.
- Three years of registered nurse experience in trauma critical
care or emergency nursing.Work Environment:The Trauma Performance
