Cabinet Maker Senior Job DescriptionJob Summary:This is a senior-level position for a cabinet maker responsible for fabricating complex cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies for installation in aircraft. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cabinetmaking, experience in the aerospace industry, and excellent communication skills.Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate complex high-quality furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using stationary and handheld tools.
• Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure finished products meet design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail.
• Utilize a variety of woodworking tools and techniques.
• Comply with and champion safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and ensure the protection of aircraft interiors.
• Work with lead and higher-skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma and other process improvement techniques.
• Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.Additional Responsibilities:
• Accept lead responsibilities when required, mentor, and train lesser-skilled technicians.
• Oversee projects and coordinate with lead to delegate tasks to assigned technicians.
• Conduct safety audits and assist team members in doing safety audits.
• Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs.
• Coordinate with other backshops when necessary.
• Adapt to sudden schedule changes.Requirements:
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
• Must be computer literate.
• Advanced knowledge of cabinetmaking processes and products.
• Possess a working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications preferred.
