We're developing ways to improve the vision of cats and minimize pet allergies through quality nutrition. We were the first ever to extrude dry dog food and we're backed by a lengthy list of patents-a portfolio of industry firsts.Over 500 scientists make everything we think about come to life. We're nutritionists, chemists, immunologists, microbiologists, veterinarians, and the alike. But, what we do stretches far beyond our titles. It's a dare we accepted from the very beginning - the dare to 'Stand Taller'.As a Digital Solutions Scientist, you'll coordinate the collection of high-quality pet-training data to support the development of insight-generating AI within Purina's commercial IoT, diagnostic, and other digital products. You'll have the opportunity to assist in the development of training material for internal knowledge transfer and onboarding methods, as well as information that could be external facing to pet owners.* Plan, organize, and coordinate the necessary tests and experiments as required to deliver high-quality pet-training data* Provide product/process input and assistance within the group and business partners* Coordinate the testing of Purina and competitor digital products, providing feedback and advice* Test protocols designed to validate Purina proprietary AI and algorithms in coordination with data scientists and commercial digital product teams* Complete all required documentation and test result reporting in a timely manner* Knowledge of, and compliance with, the Animal Welfare Act and all procedures and protocols in the Nestl Purina PetCare Manual* Conduct all activity in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and all required Company policies and proceduresRequirements* Bachelor's OR Master's degree from an accredited university in Ethology, Biology, Zoology, Psychology, Anthrozoology, Animal Science or related discipline, with an emphasis in Animal Behavior* 1+ years of experience using behavior coding software (e.g., Noldus, Mangold) or processes (e.g., direct labeling in Excel or custom software)* 1+ years of experience working with human-pet interaction, human-technology interaction and/or pet-technology interactionOther* Experience in computer programming and/or information technology is preferred* Experience with biological sample collection, handling, cataloging and storage is preferredDon't meet all the qualifications listed under "other"?
