Position Summary:

The Sanitation Lead is a valuable part of our team. In addition to performing the normal functions of their job, the Lead Hand provides support to the sanitation team and performs training, onboarding, and troubleshooting as needed during their shift. At the direction of leadership, this role guides the team to ensure food safety according to the requirements and procedures of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to specification
• Ensures GMP, Health & Safety and Food Safety principles are followed and adhered to
• Complete daily routine activities based on the sanitation scheduled.
• Leads, coaches, mentors and trains Sanitation team
• Work together with the team on solving sanitation problems and recommend changes in equipment or work practices to improve sanitation standards.
• Coordinates all sanitation activities to accomplish sanitation practices according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's)
• Creates a continuous improvement by providing feedbacks to the team and improving cleaning effectiveness within the area while striving for efficiency within Sanitation
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Sanitation Supervisor Education & Experience Required:
  
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working sanitation
  • Knowledge of cleaning packaging lines, washroom, fryer and dry roaster Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
    
    • Knowledge of forklifts, scissor lift, power pallet jack and boom lift
    • Ability to speak, read and write English
    • Must be able to work with chemicals and other cleaning agents
    • Able to stand and walk around for long periods of time
    • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
    • Able to work shift work including graveyard shifts and weekends as required
    • Ability to learn our business, be a team player and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment.
