The Education Research and Outreach Lab at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center has an opening for a 2-year full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The Education Research and Outreach Labprograms provide STEAM educational opportunities for teachers and students, in informal and formal environments and use research assessments within the programs to understand how a diverse range of students learn about STEM concepts. We are interested in a highly motivated individual to join our team as a post doctoral research associate to support our STEAM+Ag education projects including programming at the Jackie Joyner Kersee Food Ag and Nutrition Innovation Center in East St. Louis, IL. This position is not remote.
Role and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Assist with project management responsibilities for various Education Research and Outreach related projects
• Lead data management tasks including e.g. collection, curation, analysis
• Be lead author on one or more peer-reviewed papers per year, co-author on additional work, and co-PI on grants
• Disseminate research results internally and at professional meetings
• Work collaboratively as part of a diverse team
• Assist with general lab activities (e.g. school visits, outreach events, tours, field trips)
• Other duties as assigned Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Expertise in technical scientific writing
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Demonstrate interest and experience in STEAM+Ag education and research
  • Able to organize, multitask their time efficiently and work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and interactive research environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to produce high-quality oral and written research products
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

    Qualifications:
    • Ed.D. OR Ph.D. in STEM Education Research or a life science discipline with significant education experience Submission:
