This opportunity is in the Claims Department:
Our Claims department oversees both high-exposure workers' compensation and liability claims. As an unbundled carrier, we work actively with third-party administrators (TPAs) and self-administered accounts to assist in guiding claims to a successful resolution. As an excess and large deductible carrier, the high exposure claims we handle keep our group challenged, but the uniqueness provides plenty of growth opportunities.
Role Description:
In the role of Claims Coordinator (internally known as, Coordinator - Claims - Claims Maintenance), you will be part of a critical team that receives, reviews, and inputs new claims from our Third Party Administrators (TPAs). You will work closely with others in the claims department. Your work directly impacts our ability to process claims quickly and accurately and helps to preserve our strong reputation, which benefits all throughout Safety National.
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Claims Coordinator (First Notice of Loss) include receiving new claims reports, obtaining policy information, uploading appropriate coverage forms and the assignment of those claims to a Claims Analyst for handling. Additionally, you will review queues in Claims Center and reports for additional reported claims requiring updates or assignment, and maintain vendor listings in our PeopleSoft system.
The ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, detail oriented, organized, has a curious mindset, is passionate about improving processes, and possesses good communication skills. Some of the essentials functions you will perform in this role are to prepare and maintain various logs and production reports as well as, prioritize tasks and work on multiple items simultaneously. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required.

Education:

• A Bachelor's in a related field is preferred Required Qualifications:
  • Prior professional office experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Demonstrated analytical ability
  • Basic knowledge of or experience within the insurance industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with commitment to providing excellent customer service Preferred Qualifications:
    • Prior claims or insurance experience
    • Experience reading and understanding insurance policies and coverages or other complex documents
    • Experience with Guidewire Claim Center or similar software systems
    • Prior experience with PeopleSoft or similar software systems
