Job Description Description: The Gund Company is looking for an
experienced CNC machinist for our 2nd shift (2:00 PM-10:30 PM)

Customer and Take Care of the Business The CNC Operator II is
responsible for the fabrication of parts according to work orders
and customer requirements. Ensures machinery is set up and works
properly. (will be using CNC milling, UMC router, routers,
shears---) The ideal candidate will:Thrive in a fast paced
production environmentSearch for continuous improvement
opportunities Implement the Production Fulfillment Process steps
related to the fabrication of parts according to work order and
customer requirements. Ensures machinery is set up, works properly,
and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with)
company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. Third of Four
levels of CNC machining center operator. Setups involve familiarity
with and understanding of program formats involving combinations of
operations such as profile and contour milling, boring, recessing,
turning, drilling, threading, etc., to the capacity of the machine
and control factor. Operates numerically controlled machine tools
to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on
a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and
finish specifications requiring a high degree of skill. May check
parts for conformance to specifications and run and set up more
than one unit simultaneously. Essential Job FunctionsOperate
multiple types of fabrication equipment:Set-up and operate CNC
machining centers in multiple cells that include but are not
limited to mills, lathes, presses, routers etc.Set up and operate
various types of machine tools and perform progressive machining
operations for parts, tools and machines with close to exacting
tolerancesPerform advanced setup operationsAdjust and check out
programmingSet up machines for and instruct other operatorsWork
with team leads and management personnel to lead teams and projects
of varying scope and work cellsPlaces and secures work pieces in
proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface
using clamps and wrenches.Load, operate and manufacture a variety
of parts using CNC machining centers to make custom parts according
to customer orders and instructionsFollow written instructions from
internal and external customers and interpret basic to intermediate
blueprint specificationsPerform work independently with minimal
defectsBasic recognition of tooling and procedures within
established tolerances Complete work order paperwork Checks parts
for conformance to customer specifications.Maintain count and
perform packaging duties as requiredParticipate in cross training
activities to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the
departmentPerform routine daily machine maintenance including
cleaning up and lubricationMaintain a clean and organized work
areaProvide guidance, feedback and positive behavior modeling The

CompetenciesRequires a broad knowledge of machining techniques and
familiarity with computer numerically controlled machine tool
operating procedures. Communicate with supervisor on work order
priorityOpen to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of
partsBasic to intermediate math skills and/or aptitudesAbility to
use basic measuring instrumentsExcellent problem solving skillsMust
be able to work overtime as needed Education and
ExperienceTypically requires 5+ years of combined formal training
and experience, or equivalent. A High School Diploma or GED with
prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or
any similar combination of education and experience is required.
