As a Special Assistant, you will:
* Serve as subject matter a functional expert and provides
leadership and assistance on behalf of the Associate DAS. Also
serves as a troubleshooter and primary resource person for the ADAS
on programmatic and policy issues relating to the enforcement of
the fair housing laws, programs and policy; budget and management
issues; administrative services and human resources issues;
Emergency Planning procedures and Continuity of Operations (COOP)
plans and procedures; risk management and safety issues and
information technology programs.
* Research, assemble, and digest available information on various
issues, policies, and specific actions that are pending and
presents materials to the ADAS or the GDAS / Assistant Secretary
with evaluation and or recommendation; coordinates and reviews work
products from management staff; and prepares briefing materials and
talking points for the ADAS in preparation for upcoming
presentations, speeches, and appearances.
* Work directly with staff members in Headquarters and the Field in
retrieving information and making assignments for the DAS. The
incumbent also functions as the ADAS' liaison with the staff in the
ADAS's offices and other offices.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of
this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have
one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of
difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level
in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position
includes:
* Assisting in developing and implementing management strategies,
policies, and procedures to improve the overall management of an
organization; AND
* Planning and conducting functional area reviews, analyzing
findings, and addressing a range of business process improvements
or management issues; AND
* Determining operational needs, making recommendations, and
monitoring strategy implementation.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private
sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to
full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Education
The education generally must be from an accredited (or
pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S.
