A successful candidate will have 2+ years of experience conducting environmental due diligence work (including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments) and/or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Reports.Responsibilities and DutiesEnvironmental Due Diligence responsibilities include conducting site visits of wireless communications facilities and commercial properties. The site visit is comprised of: taking detailed field notes and photographs, conducting interviews, and performing regulatory agency file reviews. Office activities consist of reviewing historic topographic maps, Sanborn maps, city directories, aerial photographs, title/lien search reports, environmental databases, regulatory and other documents. This is followed by the interpretation of the compiled information and the drafting of a standardized report in accordance with ASTM E-1527-13.NEPA responsibilities include maintaining expertise regarding the overall Section 106 / NEPA laws and the FCC's interpretation of their application. NEPA and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) requires federal agencies (such as the FCC) to assess the effects its actions may have on historic properties and the environment. On behalf of our telecommunications clients, we investigate potential impacts, initiate consultation, and help to resolve concerns.With regards to NEPA research, our scientists perform a screening of listed and/or proposed threatened or endangered species, critical habitat, NationalWetland Inventory Maps (NWI), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) etc. All work is done in accordance with FCC Rules Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1, Subpart I, rule sections 1.1301 to 1.1319. Subsequent to these activities, a Project Scientist must be able to interpret the compiled information and prepare a report.Qualifications and SkillsTo be considered, the resume of the applicant must show that the applicant possesses the following qualifications/skills:Bachelor's Degree or higher in Environmental Science/Policy, Geography, Architectural History, Civil Design/Planning, Communications, or related field2+ years of experience performing consulting field work and/or Phase I ESA due diligence reportsStrong writing and editing skillsBe an independent worker with a strong work ethicStrong verbal and written communication skillsComfort with communication via both phone and emailAbility and willingness to travel (travel not expected to exceed 2-3 days per week)Valid Driver License2+ years experience conducting one or more of the following is required:Phase I Environmental Site AssessmentsSection 106 ConsultationNEPA ReportsPrevious HAZPOWER and/or ACM/LBP licensingBenefitsCompetitive salaryMedical, Dental and Vision insuranceShort-term, Long-term and life insurance - 100% paid for by TrileafHealth Savings AccountFlexible Spending Account401k with Trileaf matching3 weeks of PTO per yearTrileaf Corporation is an Equal Opportunity.
