Job DescriptionRepair Specialist - Landscape Company - Equipment and VehiclesRepair Person- This position will work closely with the Landscape Production department. Works on repairing fleet vehicles and equipment, transporting to outside repair shops when necessary and repairing and maintaining landscape equipment used by crews. Work independently, maintain the garage and adhere to safety policies. Have sound problem-solving skills, a High School Education, and maintain vehicle appearance. Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and part options.We are a family-owned company in business for over 30 years in the St. Louis area. • Assist in the management of the fleet at Horstmann Brothers fleet including vehicles and equipment
• Perform all necessary preventative maintenance on fleet
• Perform repairs to fleet when possible
• Coordinate with Production managers to ensure fleet is in working order to meet production
• Document all necessary preventative and maintenance and vehicle repairs to meet DOT regulations
• Coordinate with outside vendors when necessary on purchases and repairs
• Assist in the plant and material yard with deliveries, clean up, and loading/unloading of material
• Assist other departments as needed in the field with repairs, delivery of equipment
• Maintain organization in the shop with all materials and equipment
• Maintain MSDS and other required safety notices
• Develop working relationships with all field personnel to ensure communication on identifying vehicle issues
• Ensure a safe work environment through compliance with all safety regulations and policies
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Get quotes from outside vendors
• Keep the shop clean
• Take inventory of the tools
• Assist with getting snow equipment prepped
• Assist production department
• Help with snow removal
• Help maintain the yard
• Assist with getting documentation for vehicle licensingQualifications:
  • 4+ years of maintenance experience on equipment and vehicles
  • Technical education and certifications in auto mechanics or related fields preferred
  • Strong ability to communicate using verbal and written methods
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance (regularly throughout the course of the workday) along with repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling
  • Class E drivers license and clean MVR
