Job Title: Sr. Manager, Biologics Sourcing Category Lead.

This position will operate as the category lead for the
Biologics manufacturing single use technology (assemblies,
manifolds, tubing, etc.), etc. across ThermoFisher Scientific
Pharma Service Group(PSG) global biologics manufacturing network.
The role, in conjunction with relevant business partners and key
stakeholders, will lead and deliver category initiatives that
identify, design, and implement category supplier network and
contribute to the business unites goal of Right First Time, On Time
Delivery, and profitability improvement. The role will lead
sourcing projects including using the PSG sourcing methodology,
define category sourcing strategy, and key category supplier
Provide global category leadership for PSG- Biologics for single
use systems (bags, manifolds, tubing, etc.) and chromatography
purification resins including set global strategy and category plan
with inputs from Biologics Business Unit and site leadership and
key functional stake holders, and corporate procurement.
Manages category demand, market supply, supply contracts, and
supplier relationship management for sourcing initiatives as
outlined in the PS Sourcing process
Conducts sourcing projects & events, supplier negotiation,
project management, and execution of "preferred" Supply Agreements
based on the PSG Procurement Mission of Right First Time, On Time
Delivery, and profitability goals.
Drives annual category objectives, strategies, and project
execution, track and report Value Capture and project progress to
achieve category, and site level category procurement
Establishes key suppliers' relationships management frame work
associated with Biologics Bulk Drug Substance Manufacturing.
- Deploys and monitors operational supplier metrics to: deliver
objective "Supplier Relationship Management," rationalize and
leverage the vendor base on a category basis, measure and improve
"compliance" to the corporate contracts
Bachelor's and/or Masters degree in finance, engineering or
science. Master Business Administration preferred
- Minimal 3 yrs of experience in procurement and or supply chain
- Minimal 5 yrs industry experience
- Experience within a pharmaceutical/cGMP , particularly in
Biologics manufacturing environments preferred
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant
work experience may be considered.
- Robust Project Management skills, and a demonstrated ability to
lead projects on a regional or global basis
- Ability to articulate sourcing business case rationales to gain
support from key functional stakeholders
- Good negotiation skills with suppliers in supplier pricing,
terms and conditions to drive supplier total values.
- Research and analytical skills to support category spend and
- Multi-tasking skills and planning for prioritizing personal
workload.. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to travel as required to sites, conferences, and vendor
locations. Estimated travel is 25-50%
- PMP and CPM certification preferred
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP's, experience with eProcurement
an added plus
- Experience with Supply Quality Programs
Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical
coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to
stand, walk,; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor,
operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of
time; ability to travel both domestically and internationally as
