Overview Role Purpose This job utilizes a high degree of knowledge, training, skill level, and competence in a specialized are of psychiatry and mental health. Assess, formulate a diagnosis, initiate an integrated treatment plan, coordinate interventions, and evaluate the process toward recovery of adults with severe, persistent, and debilitating mental illness within the scope of formal collaborative practice agreement with psychiatrist (MD) Responsibilities Participates in professional development Prescribes, monitors, and manages psychotropic medications to adults with severe mental illness through an advanced and integrated assessment, diagnosis, and intervention in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician (psychiatrist). Prescriptive responsibilities are reviewed by the collaborative physician. Provides supportive psychotherapy and coordinates the psychiatric care of a select client population with focus on client-centered mental health treatment toward the goal of recovery. Admits and discharges per the Level of Care and treatment plan objectives. Participates in a multi- disciplinary team model to include the Health Care Home program which focuses on the holistic, integrated treatment of a person. Works directly in the local community by visiting clients who reside in boarding home facilities. Manages medication, reviews the treatment goals and objectives, and coordinates care with the client and staff of the home. BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job. Minimum Requirements Degree Master's Degree - Nursing(Accredited NP Program) Licenses & Certifications Nurse Practitioner Preferred Requirements and Additional Job Information Experience
