Scholastic Book Fairs is looking for a methodical, organized problem solver with a knack for analyzing complex logistic needs to arrive at cost-efficient solutions. Join our National Fleet Planning team! As a Router, you will use your highly developed reasoning skills to provide best-in-class fleet routing for 240,000 book fair deliveries and pickups throughout North America. What You'll Do for Us:

Become an expert user of world-class fleet routing software

Accurately complete assigned weekly fleet routing with accuracy to create the highest efficiency

Communicate clearly and concisely with internal customers in Distribution, Operations, and Sales to ensure complete customer satisfaction and clarify expectations

Organize time and prioritize to provide prompt updates to upcoming routes

Analyze routing parameters and location-specific geography and recommend enhancements to initiate fleet cost savings

Work with Operations and Distribution leaders to forecast labor and equipment needs

Participate in collaborative conference calls as needed to address routing and distribution issues

Meet group and individual KPI goals

Ensure compliance of DOT rules and regulations for hours of service

Support Network Optimization efforts that impact Book Fairs

Recognize departmental and organizational needs and develop action plans to help meet those needs

What's Required?

High school diploma or GED

Outstanding analytical ability proven through experience in a prior role or academic program

History of independent problem solving with a team player mentality

Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite (esp. Excel and PowerPoint)

Strong organization skills with ability to triage urgent tasks, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Evidence of a strong work ethic and commitment to quality

Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Professional business etiquette

Ability to regularly and comfortably interact with middle management

Ability to work overtime during peak seasons in fall and spring as needed

Candidates for employment will be required to demonstrate analytical ability through logic tasks as part of the hiring process.

What's Exceptional?

Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related subject or equivalent work experience

Previous experience in fleet dispatching or routing internal fleet

Experience or understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, DOT, and OSHA regulations and compliance

Technical knowledge of mapping/routing programs

Previous exposure to Oracle Transportation Management software

Experience in project management and creating/hosting presentations

Experience with moderate-complexity data analysis

Advanced Excel and/or other database skills
