-Read and understand banquet event order (BEO) and know the proper
way to complete the room set-up as indicated.
-Set tables as assigned correctly and uniformly.
-Keep station neat and clean while servicing guest per established
policies, guidelines and procedures.
-Assist with food and beverage service, as required. Carry coffee
pots and beverages throughout the room, refilling guests' cups and
glasses as needed or requested.
-Assist Lead Banquet Server or Banquet Captain in setting
up/breaking down buffet or other special food service tables and
-Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by the
policies/procedures regarding the service of food and beverage.
-Ensure the delivery of food and / or other items to the banquet
room and guest table is done in a timely manner.
-Serve guests in a warm, polite and professional manner.
-Take drink orders, open wine bottles and serve alcoholic beverages
in a professional manner; following the STAR Training for
responsible alcohol server guidelines.
-Follow all guest check and money-handling procedures when serving
a-la-carte and beverage orders.
-Ensure the proper handling of food safety guidelines are followed
by self and team members.
-Complete all side work as assigned.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
-In addition to performance of the essential functions, this
position may be required to perform a combination of the additional
supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each
function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the
particular requirements of the hotel.
-Know the beverage menu for each function and the ingredients and
preparation methods in order to prepare beverages to be served as
-Know and use "Suggestive Selling" techniques in order to up-sell
