SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Senior Analytical Chemist position within the Lifecycle
Management provides technical analytical support, including
non-routine testing to support Manufacturing and Quality
investigations, process improvements, process validations,
reference standards characterization, new products and Regulatory
filings for the Specialty Generics organization using various
analytical techniques such wet chemistry, ion chromatography,
thermal analysis and powder x-ray diffraction.
* Works in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment to
provide unique solutions to internal and external customers
* Completes method development/validation, troubleshooting and
investigation activities for raw materials, intermediates and API s
in support of timelines required for new product development
efforts, process improvement efforts, Manufacturing and Quality
investigations and Regulatory filings and responses.
* Follows existing methods or develops new methods, as required,
including sample preparation, instrument set up and analyses, data
calculations and report writing.
* Accurately prepares samples, reagents and standards; accurately
documents all laboratory work, calculations and results.
* Provides troubleshooting of analytical methods, equipment and
instrument issues, as required.
* Works effectively with other functions, including quality,
regulatory, safety, engineering and synthetic chemistry groups, to
contribute to the successful completion of projects.
* Reviews work performed by other team members for compliance to
analytical methods and protocols.
* Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication
* Regularly attends team meetings to report progress on laboratory
work, collaborate with team members and discuss upcoming projects
* Maintains compliance with company, site, and safety policies and
A PhD in chemistry or related field; MS in chemistry or related
field with a minimum of 3 years of experience; a BS in chemistry or
related filed with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Experience developing and troubleshooting methods for various wet
chemistry techniques such as titrations, turbidity, NIR/moisture
analyzer and Karl Fischer is required. Experience with techniques
such as ion chromatography, thermal analysis, powder x-ray
diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, FT-IR microscopy and
HPLC is desired. Prior experience working in the Pharmaceutical
industry is preferred as is a strong familiarity with FDA, DEA, ICH
guidelines and requirements of various pharmacopeias (USP, EP,

self-starter with a strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal
communication skills, effective time management for successfully
working on multiple tasks simultaneously, a willingness/ability to
adapt to changing priorities and the ability to collaborate with
other team members. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word
and Excel are required.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS:
This position will interact with other members of the LCM team.
This position does not have direct reports.
This position will work primarily in a laboratory environment that
is air conditioned and environmentally controlled. Employees are
required to wear PPE when working in the lab and traveling in the
plant. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25lbs.,
and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
