JOB SUMMARY :
Manageall production, engineering and maintenance operations at
the St. Louisproduction facility with overall responsibility for
performance in safety,quality, production output, GMP/HACCP, and
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manageoperations to meet established coststandards while
ensuring production plans are in place and executed to satisfy
marketdemand and maintain economic safety stocks.
Developlong range capital plan to support manufacturing and
Ensuresafe operating procedures and methods are practiced at all
times and promote safety awareness to minimize the number ofplant
injuries. Minimize productintegrity risks through effective
practice of HACCP and GMP programs.
Directmaintenance function to ensure operational reliability and
maximize equipmentOn-Stream-Time through cost effective equipment
and facilities maintenance.
Ensuremaintenance of the company’s union free status through
effectivecommunications and fair and consistentenforcement of all
company rules and policies and fostering an environment oftotal
Achievemaximum quality and yield at the lowest manufacturing
costs through establishmentand achievement of challenging plant
Continuouslymonitor the state and condition of plant equipment
and process technology vs. availablenew technology to identify
improvement opportunities and to ensure both longterm reliability
and that the organization remains current with best practicesand
most efficient cost effective methods.
Providedirection for the Project Engineering Department in
development of all newcapital projects. Identify capital
requirementsfor annual budgeting process. Designateexpenditures of
miscellaneous capital budget.
Directthe efforts of the Process Improvement group focusing on
optimization andstandardization of both existing and new
manufacturing processes to achieve maximumquality and yield at the
lowest manufacturing costs.
Assistsubordinates with personal development plans to enhance
their effectiveness andsatisfaction in their current assignments
and to develop an appropriatemanagement succession pool.
Ensure the highest level of commitment to Safe Quality Food
(SQF)in order to provide assurance that all products have been
produced, preparedand handled according to the highest possible
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
B.S.Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred, MBA is a plus but
Minimumof ten years Operations Management experience.
Experiencein specially or fine chemical manufacturing
Experiencein Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement
Positionrequires the ability to think conceptually coupled with
a very practicalapproach to achieving planned objectives.
Strongleadership skills is a must.
Goodorganizational and planning skills required.
