Business Need / Purpose of Role The director of sales position
is responsible for planning and implementing sales and product
development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward
existing and new markets by performing the following duties
personally or through direct reports.
Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities Including but
not limited to:
Develops and implements strategic sales plans and forecasts to
achieve corporate objectives for products and services
Achieve or exceed budgeted Input, Output and PBIT objectives
Identify new markets, channels of distribution and customers to
drive company revenue growth and profitability
Develop and recommends products, pricing, programs and
distribution structures to support and achieve new market growth
objectives and produce the highest possible long-term market
Determine and recommend opportunities to grow sales of other
Weir Group companies’ products through WSP sales and distribution
Provide the organization with accurate and on-time forecast
Represents company at trade association meetings to promote
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with

Analyzes and control expenditures conform to budgetary
Oversee Project Engineering activity to support Input, Output
and PBIT as well as new product development activity.

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications
Minimum BA or BS degree required (Engineering preferred); MBA
preferred; minimum 7 years management experience directing
sales functions, minimum 7 years of pump/valve experience in
our core served markets; or equivalent combination of education and
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and
technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability
to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers,
regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability
to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to
prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present
information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of
directors. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety
rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
