Come grow with us!Job Description:Crowe is seeking a Lead Business Intelligence Developer in our Product Engineering practice to lead the design, development and implementation of analytics, business intelligence initiatives for the Digital Audit Platform utilized by the Audit business. This role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of BI data models and dashboards and will be working along-side our data engineers and core developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

The Lead BI Developer will work with stakeholders and SMEs to define, design and deliver actionable insights while working with the Solution Architect, Data Engineers and BI developers in an agile environment.

The Lead Business Intelligence Developer will provide thought leadership around analytics, data governance, visualizations, designing and implementing analytical data models. They will lead BI technology initiatives, model new data sets and develop new analytics tools for our stakeholders. While they may use Microsoft technologies like Power BI, they will also consider other technologies with the goal of deriving value from our data assets.Lead Business Intelligence Developer 80%

  • Formulates and recommends standards for achieving maximum performance and efficiency of the analytics solutions.
  • Quickly develop diverse POCs from various data sources and systems
  • Create and evaluate tailored procedures
  • Perform ad-hoc data discovery using tools such as Power BI and Excel
  • Create visually stunning and user-friendly reports using tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Possess effective writing and communication skills for audiences of diverse business and technical backgrounds
  • Lead BI software development, deployment, and maintenance
  • Work with stakeholders and develop BI roadmap for success given project prioritization and budget.
  • Work directly with our data engineers to guarantee data correctness and data quality
  • Work with business users, product, and customer teams to set precise requirements for BI analytics, tooling and future software and make the right strategic decisions
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting of our BI solutions, including investigation of data issues and data validation
  • Evangelize self-service BI and visual discovery while helping to change Excel based culture.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner, BA and the Solution Architect to ensure prioritization of Digital Audit's strategic objectives.
  • Champion data quality, integrity, and reliability by designing and promoting best practices.Team Mentor 20%
    • Provide assistance to Digital Audit Development and Operations Teams with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems and/or programming knowledge.
    • Provide on-the-job training for new or less experienced team members.
    • Provide technical training to external team members to foster stronger relationsQualifications:
      • 10+ years of experience delivering business intelligence solutions in a developer, architect or similar position
      • 10+ years of experience with OLTP and OLAP database models.
      • 8+ years of advanced experience with DAX, M, SQL, and Power BI/Power Pivot
      • 7+ years of experience in creating reports and dashboards using visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
      • Solid understanding of Kimball-style data warehousing best practices and data modeling.
      • Development of high-quality database solutions on-premises and/or in the cloud
      • Expert knowledge of creating and optimizing tabular and multidimensional models.
      • Foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, data modeling, big data analytics.
      • Capable of design, development, and testing of data management solutions (ETL, data warehousing, and reporting applications)
      • Expert knowledge of T-SQL and writing SQL queries to perform complex database operations including performance tuning and stored procedures
      • Capable of partnering with business analysts, systems analysts, and engineers to define and review requirements
      • Understanding of architectures for producing data analytics deliverables, including embedded reporting, ad hoc reporting, and advanced analytics hooks at scale.
      • Fluent in relational database concepts and flat file processing concepts
      • Implementation experience of multiple full life-cycle data management implementations
      • Implementation experience of multiple full life-cycle data management implementations
      • Leadership experience managing small teams of technical resources
      • Has strong presentation and collaboration skills and can communicate all aspects of the job requirements, including the creation of formal documentation
      • Experience with the direct cooperation with the end users and business teams on analytics needs
      • Strong analytical, problem solving, time management and organizational skills
      • Experience working in an Agile environment. Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment is a bonus.
      • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Informatics, or in a related areaPreferred Qualifications:
        • Experience with banking or financial services projects is preferred
        • Past experience working at a technology/BI consulting services firm is preferred
        • Data modeling experience with Tabular Editor is preferred
        • Database Technology: SQL Server, Hadoop, Azure Data Platform
        • Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Lake, Data Bricks, Synapse, Azure Data Factory
        • ETL Technology: SSIS, DataStage, CRON scripting
        • BI Technology: SSRS, SSAS, Tableau, PowerBI
        • Time series analysis, clustering, decision trees and neural networks
        • Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD
        • Experience working with Azure DevOps or Jira
        • Master's Degree Computer Science or Statistics
