Job Description:

Under minimal supervision, performs tasks in all areas of software development including requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing, debugging, deployment, support, documentation, and user training. Works as part of a diverse and dynamic team creating internal business and customer-facing applications which includes both new development and maintenance of existing legacy applications. Involved in resolving issues and responding to suggestions for improvements and enhancements from business customers. Works closely with technical staff to understand problems with software and develops specifications to resolve them. Responsibilities:

  • Produce code in accordance with internal development and current information security standards
  • Lead code reviews to ensure internal development standards are being followed
  • Provide technical mentorship to the development team
  • Ensure developed solutions are well-engineered, operable, maintainable, and delivered on schedule
  • Manage small to mid-sized software development projects from initiation through delivery and assists in mentoring more junior development staff
  • Partner with IT resources and internal business partners to determine project requirements
  • Design software solutions that meet project requirements
  • Perform unit testing to ensure functionality of developed applications before being released
  • Assist in providing Tier 2 support for all developed applications including debugging issues
  • Manage software deployments of internal and customer-facing applications
  • Document software applications and development processes
  • Train application users on the proper use of developed software applications
  • Assist internal business partners with user acceptance testing of developed products
  • Assists in establishing internal development standards and ensuring they are being adhered to Qualifications:
    • Minimum of an Associate's degree in a closely related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of related experience; 7+ years of related experience preferred
    • Experience managing small development projects preferred
    • Working knowledge of Object Oriented design and development
    • Programming experience required in at least three technologies (C#, ASP.NET, XML, SQL, T-SQL)
    • Programming experience preferred in (.NET Core, MVC, CSS, JQuery, JavaScript, Entity Framework, SharePoint)
    • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and principles required
    • Proficient in Microsoft tools: Visual Studio, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
    • Prefer knowledge or exposure to IIS, ActiveDirectory, TFS, SQL Management Studio, Jira
    • Excellent relationship building and problem-solving skills
    • Possess strong communication skills, both written and oral
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards
    • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to think critically and rapidly learn new technologies as needed
    • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and strong desire to build a cohesive and collaborative team
    • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive to complete assigned tasks
