This is a remote position with occasional visits to St. Louis once travel is safe.

Responsibilities

• The Senior Software Engineer will design and develop software for a system that helps detect viruses.

• Work with and mentor other engineers on a component of the system to meet your design goals.
• Work with a system architect to define components responsibilities, plan components evolution, and ensure components will meet system needs.
• Work with software testers to ensure the system supports both automated and manual test needs.
• Work with microbiology experts and business analysts to learn microbiology and balance requirements with technical complexity.
  
  Qualifications
  
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related scientific discipline, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of experience including 2+ years operating at a senior level of Java Full Stack development including HTML 5, CSS, , JavaScript and Java EE.
  • Ability to develop and document deliverables compliant with established company design control and regulatory statutes.
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
  • Strong experience in server-side multi-threaded programming in Java.
  • OO analysis and design experience using Design Patterns.
  • Design and development of relational databases preferably using PostgreSQL.
  • Strong experience in unit and integration testing using JUnit
    
    Preferred Qualifications
    
    • ISO/FDA regulated environment as a member of a product development organization (medical device or biotech industry).
    • Experience and/or familiarity with platforms like GWT a plus.
    • Experience with Java based reporting tools like JasperReports a plus.
    • Experience with Selenium, Tomcat/Jetty/Spring Boot.
