Job Description:

Modis has an immediate job opening for a 12 months contract SAS Developer position in the St Louis downtown area.  Candidates that qualify for this job will have 2+ years of experience with SAS Base and SAS macros. This is a long-term opportunity with GREAT pay and EXCELLENT work environment!
 
Job Responsibilities

• 
  

• Acts in the highest level technical role as an individual contributor and/or team lead for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives.  
• Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs.  
• Works on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors.  
• Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing.  
• Leads most complex multiple modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts.  
• Acts as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program development, testing, and implementation process.:
• 10+ years application development and implementation experience.

 
Job Qualifications
 

• 
  

• Bachelors degree in information systems or computer science
• 3+ years directly applicable work experience
• 2+ years of experience with SAS Base and SAS macros
• Strong understanding of Oracle, SQL Server and/or Teradata databases
• Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment
• Strong analytical reporting and data analysis skills including summary and trend reporting
• Good oral and written communication skills

 
Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  

• Masters degree in information systems or computer science
• Certified Advanced SAS Programmer
• Experience with Perl and/or Unix Shell Scripting
• Experience with software engineering
• Firm understanding of data management and data warehousing principles
• Experience working with finance and/or home mortgage data
