Human Resources Generalist

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Human Resources
Provides guidance and coaching to supervisors, managers, and other leaders regarding employee relations issues and investigations. Assists leaders with coaching and performance improvement plan documents.
Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies, procedures and handbook to ensure they are updated and communicated.
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Provides recommendations to managers and supervisors on issues affecting morale, performance, development, and organization effectiveness.
Performance Management
Ensures performance appraisals are conducted in a timely manner and reviews for accuracy and legal compliance; monitors merit increases and ensures equity in positions.
HRIS
Updates the human resource information system (HRIS), Workday by entering, updating and auditing data. May assist with system testing and analyzing and interpreting HRIS reports/data (Workday and iCIMS).
Training
May develops and facilitate assigned training initiatives to all levels of employees.
Recruitment
Responsible for pre-employment processes for assigned region and onboarding and new employee orientation for same employees.
Coordinates with hiring managers to ensure training and compliance with Affirmative Action program.
Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation. Coordinates recruitment strategy with assigned hiring managers.
Works in iCIMS (ATS) preparing and sending offer letters and submitting and tracking all pre-employment requirements.
Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
Identifies communication and operational issues arising during day-to-day administration activities/contact with employees and proposes solutions to the Manager of Human Resources as appropriate.
Recommends process improvements to continuously improve efficiency and customer service.
Works on special projects and performs other job-related duties as needed.
Supports Benefit Specialist with benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees. (Open enrollment - New hire preparation); answers employee questions related to compensation and benefits.
Coordinates with Leave of Absence Coordinator on leave management for assigned regions: FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, Military leaves, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or another appropriate degree or equivalent experience.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR, SHRM-CP) certification preferred, but not required.
Strong background working with HRIS systems; Workday (HRIS) and iCIMS (ATS) experience preferred.
Familiar with Affirmative Action Plan and other compliance requirements.
Excellent computer skills in a MS Windows environment, to include advanced Excel skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills.
Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and coaching skills.
Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
Excellent organizational skills.
Extensive knowledge of employment laws and practices.
Specialized training in employment law, employee relations, benefits/leave administration, and training preferred.
3+ years' experience as a Human Resources Generalist or similar role.
