Job Description Pay range is commensurate upon experience. This is a Direct-Hire position. Responsible for performing tests on air compressor products to ensure that the products perform their proposed functions satisfactorily. You'll be instrumental in identifying problem areas, troubleshooting, and writing reports to assist in production of highest quality products possible. The Quality Assurance Technician will use technical schematics, engineering drawings, and testing equipment to better ensure product quality and get the most detailed results. What will you do in this role? Identify and recommend resources in support of validation and compliance testing, plus investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues. Maintain advanced level of product knowledge and application as well as thorough understanding of testing codes and standards. Utilize production schedules regularly to maintain efficiency and on time delivery. Monitor, study and evaluate current test results daily before conducting your own tests, ensuring products comply with the most current company and industry standards, codes, and specifications. Assist in the creation, selection and set-up of specialized test equipment, methods, and procedures from blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and SOPs. Maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of processes and data collected. Perform set-up and testing of instruments, circuits, components, and mechanical assemblies for use in testing. Perform alignment checks, making all necessary adjustments and replacements according to results and current company and industry standards. Perform electrical measurements, test, and trouble shoot assemblies and/or final products per test procedures and engineering specifications. Discern imperfections and defects and find areas of improvement. Remove, replace, and assemble parts and/or assemblies as required. Perform necessary touch up and cleaning of products. Maintain records on work performed, analyze data collected, report results, report abnormalities, and recommend solutions. Monitor and maintain inventory of tooling and equipment on hand, and advise on equipment required to meet production schedules including obsolete, repair, or calibration status. Collaborate with departmental teams to develop enhanced testing methods as newtechnology and information become available. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. What qualifications do you need for this role? Education: Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of air compressor or other pneumatic mechanical equipment plus basic mechanical and electrical concepts knowledge required Able to read and understand parts lists, blueprint drawings, and test procedures Must have firm commitment to excellence and high standards and a strong understanding of how to create highly satisfied customer Knowledge of the use of thermometers, voltmeters, or amp meters to test products Good reading, comprehension, technical aptitude, analytical skills, and basic computer knowledge Good hand-eye coordination, excellent manual dexterity, able to work with small, detailed objects Experience using mechanic tools, basic hand tools, pipe installation tools and equipment maintenance knowledge Able to set up, use, and repair various testing equipment and tools Willingness to work hours outside of the standard schedule as needed, with appropriate notice when possible Able to work in noisy, hot, and cold work areas on a daily basis Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, talk, hear, and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb, or balance. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat, hot fluid (oil), grease, airborne particles and vibration. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
