General Description Provide MST services to clients and their families within the nine MST principles. Job Responsibilities: Providing 60% of each work day to billable clients services Engaging client, primary care giver, and other key participants Educating clients on mental health/substance abuse issues and HIV/AIDS risk reduction as appropriate Maintaining high quality and achievement of targeted results through the use of performance management and the principles and practice of CQI Keeping current on agency initiatives through all forms of communication (email, intranet site, newsletters, etc.) Engaging clients and meet face to face with CT as clinically appropriate Engaging and maintaining collaborative relationship with client families and support group throughout treatment Accessing community resources and linking clients as needed Identifying, screening, assessing, and engaging clients for substance abuse and mental health treatment Providing individual therapy for substance abuse and mental health issues Tracking clients not engaged Providing in-house and community training and education on substance abuse issues as requested Sharing in crisis beeper coverage; turn in crisis contact forms by 8:00 a.m. the following business day Providing waiting room coverage as needed Linking clients to housing, food, clothing and financial resources as needed; advocating for civil rights as needed Linking clients to mental health care and substance abuse treatment as appropriate Writing assessments, overarching and intermediate treatment goals, and corresponding weekly case summaries, using the MST analytic process and in compliance with the nine MST principles Submitting client contact logs weekly and ensuring that log matches progress notes Ensuring that client contacts match requirements to achieve intermediate and overarching goals Ensuring that assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes are congruent, are within the MST analytic process, and are in compliance with the nine MST principles Ensuring that a Client Rights form is signed and maintained in client file Ensuring that client file (face sheet, etc.) and crisis contact log are completed within the first week after intake; update as needed Submitting crisis contact forms (when providing crisis beeper coverage) by 8:00 a.m. the following business day Submitting training logs quarterly Participating in monthly QA chart reviews and make corrections as requested Meeting team productivity requirements (72 hours/month for caseload of 7 families). Attending meetings as scheduled: daily staff meeting, weekly supervision, weekly phone consultation, mandatory training as scheduled, bi-annual retreats, research interviews, other meetings as scheduled Attending required MST training and case conferences, and other training as scheduled Training other staff as requested in particular areas of expertise; stay up-to-date in area of expertise Completing training requirements as needed to maintain licensure; participate in training and/or additional licensure requirements as requested Completing itinerary daily (day before if out) and notify supervisor of any changes Demonstrating team effectiveness by actively listening to peers, focusing on solutions, and assisting with tasks Monitoring self burn out Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor A challenging opportunity to join a team focused on excellence at the intersection of quality physical and behavioral healthcare. Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. Two years of experience in mental health field. Years of direct experience can be substituted for education. Course work or clinical experience in youth, family preservation, childhood development, behavioral, marital therapy, and/or community treatment preferred. Working knowledge of DSM, diagnoses, psychotropic medications and substance abuse treatment and services helpful. Missouri Certified Substance Abuse Counselor I certification helpful. Must have access to a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Missouri Class E license or Illinois driver's license and auto insurance.
