Position Details: Registered Nurse (RN) – Nurse Manager, Med Surg / Medical Telemetry 7W Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128 Schedule: Full-Time | 40 hours/week Shift: Day Shift About the Unit — Medical Telemetry 7W Medical Telemetry 7W (and its sister unit 7E) cares for adult patients requiring continuous cardiac and telemetry monitoring. Nurses on this unit commonly treat: - Cellulitis - Pneumonia - Urinary tract infections - Chest pain - Gastrointestinal issues - COPD exacerbations - Medically stable COVID-19 patients This is a fast-paced, high?acuity environment ideal for developing strong clinical and leadership skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, acute medical care, and complex patient management. Overview Responsible to manage the delivery of nursing care to a specific patient population on a 24-hour basis while achieving quality clinical outcomes and maximizing the utilization of resources. Effectively managing the delivery of nursing care requires creating and promoting a professional practice environment at the unit level that exemplifies a vision and goals congruent with the Medical Center and the respective clinical service line as well as high levels of coworker engagement, patient satisfaction, safe and quality clinical outcomes, financial performance and physician satisfaction. Responsible to implement elements of the Nursing Strategic Plan within their departments. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Qualifications Required - Education: Bachelor’s degree required - Internal transfers without a bachelor’s degree may be considered if actively pursuing a Baccalaureate program (minimum one course per semester). - Licensure: Current RN license or temporary permit in Missouri - Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical RN experience - Certifications: BLS (AHA) - Skills: - Demonstrated leadership abilities - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Sound management and decision?making abilities - Proficiency with computers and analyzing complex clinical data Preferred - Education: BSN; Master’s degree (MSN or related field) - Certifications: Specialty certification in relevant clinical area (e.g., CMSRN, PCCN) Why Mercy?
