Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/27/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs - Hours: 48 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 27, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down position at a Magnet-designated Level I Trauma Center, requiring a valid MO or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience. Details - Step-Down unit in a short-term acute care hospital setting - 1,273-bed Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center - Patient ratio of 1:5 - Patient population includes post-surgical cardiac cases such as CABG, MVR, AVR, aortic aneurysm repair, Maze procedure, TAVR, heart transplant, and LVAD implant - Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) - Every other weekend required - Charting in Epic; Epic experience required - Floating within scope required to meet facility needs - No on-call requirement - Block scheduling is not available - 13-week contract with the option to work 36 or 48 hours per week Requirements - Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration - Minimum 2 years of Step-Down or relevant RN experience required - Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS - Epic EMR experience required - Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information - Scrub color: Navy Blue - Parking is available at $15/day or $70/month - RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation - Travelers may remain for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning - Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler - First-time travelers should check with their recruiter regarding eligibility for this position American Traveler Job ID P-687447.
