Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/13/2026 - Duration: 12 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • 12-week assignment with option to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week • Start date 3-4 weeks out per compliance tier • Patient ratio 1:6 • Minimum 2 years of experience required • First time travelers accepted • Every other weekend requirement • Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS • No on-call requirements • Will float within scope to meet facility needs • Guaranteed hours provided • Must pass Relias EKG exam with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required • Med/Surg and Telemetry experience preferred • Care for acute medicine population including diabetes, renal issues, COPD, abdominal rule outs, and cancer patients not receiving current chemotherapy • Does not care for surgical patients • Navy blue scrubs required • EPIC charting system • Skills required include telemetry, blood product administration, central line blood draw, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV management, insulin administration, PCA, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP management, wound care, and isolation precautions • 24 hours of orientation provided • Care for adult and geriatric patients • RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract Facility: This major healthcare facility is a Magnet and Teaching Hospital with Level I Trauma Center designation, featuring 1,266 total staffed beds. The medical-surgical unit maintains a daily census of 21 patients across 24 beds in 15 rooms. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services. Bedside procedures may include thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertion, and simple suture/debridement procedures.
