BJH is separated into five Pods that each align with different
surgical specialties: Pod 1: Pelvic specialties: gynecology,
urology, colorectal, and general surgery Pod 2: Trauma, trauma
services (wound treatment), reconstructive surgery for ortho
(hip/knee replacement, orthoscopic knee and shoulder) and plastics
repair Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, MIS, Plastics, and General
Oncology Ortho, Spine, Neuro, ENT, kidney/liver tranplants If you

Services team members find the kind of fast-paced environment that

and encourage tremendous growth. Here, you'll work with
world-renowned surgeons and anesthesiologists assist on unique and
complex procedures, work with the latest technologies and
treatments and play a vital role in developing new procedures and
treatment protocols. In fact, people from all over the nation and
the world come to Barnes-Jewish for our surgical specialties.
Provides direct patient care activities including assessment,
diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within
guidelines for standards of nursing care to inpatients and
outpatients in the perioperative environment established by AORN.
Serves as liaison between physician and the patient and family.
Demonstrates competence and independent practice in roles of
scrubbing and/or circulating for all HSO-defined surgical services.
Uses established safety techniques in preparing for and assisting
with surgical procedures; provides and sets up necessary
instruments, supplies and equipment for different types of
surgeries or procedures according to established safety
requirements and preferences of physician. Keeps patients safe from
adverse events associated with surgery/procedure, including but not
limited to: infection, burns, pressure ulcers, wrong site surgery,
etc. furnishes emergency equipment and supplies to prevent adverse
outcomes. Preserves and labels operative specimens for analysis.
Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and
regulatory compliance.? Nursing Diploma/Associate's RN Bachelor's
Degree - Nursing Licenses & Certifications Cert Nurse OR (CNOR)
