Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/16/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at an academic medical center in St. Louis, MO, requiring Epic proficiency and a MO or compact RN license. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM - Every other weekend required - Comprehensive overflow Med/Surg unit staffed by an in-house hospitalist team serving patients from all disciplines and specialties - Patient ratio of 1:5 - Epic EMR experience is required - Floating to all care areas to care for Med/Surg patients is required - MS/Tele setting with telemetry monitoring capabilities - Onsite parking garage at no cost to staff - Saint Louis University Hospital is a 356-bed non-profit, academic research medical center affiliated with the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, providing tertiary care for the east Missouri region - As part of the SSM Health System, this facility offers exposure to a wide variety of patient populations and specialties - Travelers may not work beyond 1 cumulative year at this facility; a 6-month break is required before returning as a traveler - Pre-start orientation modules are required and completed prior to the assignment start date; RN modules may take up to 5–6 hours - Navy blue scrubs are required - First-time travelers are welcome to apply /n /n Requirements/n - Active MO or compact RN license required - Minimum 2 years of RN experience required - Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS preferred - Epic EMR proficiency required - Candidates must reside more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible - 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration - Teaching hospital experience preferred; Trauma Level I or II experience preferred - Previous charge nurse experience preferred - Key clinical skills include telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, blood product administration, PICC line management, wound care, and isolation precautions/PPE - Ability to shave facial hair for N95 fit testing is required — CAPRs, PAPRs, and personal respiratory devices are not permitted /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-674821.
