Academic Cardiac Electrophysiology in Springfield, Illinois Join a growing academic cardiology program in Springfield where electrophysiology plays a central role in patient care, education, and research. This position offers a balanced mix of clinical practice and academic involvement in a supportive environment designed for long-term professional growth and stability. Practice Details Work alongside 4 general cardiologists, 5 interventional cardiologists, and an expanding EP team Supported by 4 Nurse Practitioners, including one with dedicated EP training Manage a broad EP scope, including atrial fibrillation care and device procedures Dedicated academic time for research, teaching, and scholarly initiatives Schedule Up to 2 full EP lab days and 3 to 4 half-day clinic sessions weekly Roughly equal split between clinical work and EP lab responsibilities No formal call schedule, allowing for predictable personal time Compensation & Benefits Structured base salary with significant earning potential Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available Benefits include CME funding, generous PTO, paid holidays, health coverage, and retirement plans Eligibility for state loan forgiveness programs and coverage of licensing and DEA costs Candidate Requirements Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Cardiac Electrophysiology Interest in academic medicine, teaching, and research Comfortable practicing comprehensive electrophysiology care within a team-based model About Springfield, Illinois As the capital of Illinois, Springfield offers a blend of professional opportunity and approachable living.
