Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/16/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PACU Job Details: • Work 4x10 hour shifts from 08:00 AM to 6:30 PM with rotating start times as needed • No weekends, no call, and no holidays required • Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract • Float within scope to ICU, main PACU, PCU, medical-surgical, and ER holding as needed • Minimum 2-3 years Level 1 ICU experience required (PACU preferred) • Open to candidates with over 1 year ICU/ED experience at Level 1 or 2 facility • Patient ratios of 2:1 (preop may be 1:3) • Must pass Relias EKG exam • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (CCRN and TNCC preferred) • Epic charting system experience preferred • 40 hours of orientation provided • Must have experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia • Care for adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric population in Level 1 trauma center • Recover patients from neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant surgeries • Work with artificial airways, invasive monitoring (including ICP), transfusions, and vasoactive drugs • Scrub color: Navy blue • Parking cost: $15/day or $70/month • Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility • No more than 7 days RTO per 13-week contract Facility: This facility is a Magnet and teaching hospital with Level 1 trauma center designation, featuring 1,273 total staffed beds. The PACU operates 24/7 with 38 patient bays and maintains an average daily census of 70-90 patients. The unit provides high-acuity post-anesthesia care with 80% of patients requiring hospital admission following procedures. The facility offers comprehensive specialty support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams, with its own PCT/transport team for the PACU unit.
