Barnes Jewish West County Hospital is a new state of the art facility that opened for patient care in November 2019. We are looking for Registered Nurses that can become part of a learning and growing team. Position Highlights - Full Time Day Shift - Monday-Friday (4) 9hr shifts 10:30 to 20:00 - NO weekends NO holidays - Call Required - Crosstrained in Pre-Op and PACU - 401K with match - ICU, Critical Care or PACU experience preferred The Perianesthesia department at BJWCH provides patient centered care in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Our skilled team ensures seamless transitions from pre-operative assessments to post-anesthesia recovery, prioritizing patient safety and education. As a short stay surgical hospital that provides same day outpatient discharge for a large portion of patients, this department focuses on superior care and an exceptional experience for our patients. This culture in partnership with the academic campus provides patients with excellent, innovative, and customized care. - Overview Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park. The Perioperative Services staff at Barnes Jewish West County Hospital provide excellent Surgical Care by partnering with an extraordinary team of physicians and health care professionals. They are able to offer the comforts of a small community hospital. combined with the resources of the world renowned BJC HeathCare System and Washington University Medical School. Our highly educated and dedicated staff continually strive to improve the health of the people and communities they serve Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities - Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration. - Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. - Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. - Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs. - BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position.
