Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/01/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step Down Telemetry position requiring a MO or compact RN license, with advanced skills in drips and vents. Responsibilities - Work in a hospital Step Down Unit setting - Patient ratio is 1:4 - Responsibilities include titration of vasopressors, sedation medications, insulin drips, trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes - Experience with ventilators, titration of pressors, and insulin drips required - Utilizes Epic EMR; Epic experience required - Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:30) - Every other weekend required, with specific days based on shift and unit rotation - Float to lower acuity floors within hospital as needed - No on-call required - RTO restricted to 7 days within a 13-week contract; no RTO first week - Position does not accept local candidates within a 75-mile radius - Main duties include caring for moderately complex stepdown acuity patients and managing cardiac drips, vents, and advanced monitoring equipment - Dress code requires navy scrubs - Free parking provided on site - Orientation modules must be completed prior to start - Travelers may float within service line or to affiliate hospitals as needed - Holiday coverage follows unit rotation policies - All travelers must reside outside of a 75-mile radius - Travelers may complete contracts up to 18 months at this health system, with a mandatory 3-month break between assignments Requirements - Active MO or compact RN license required for consideration - Minimum 2 years recent acute care Step Down or Telemetry experience required, with bedside nursing within the last 6 months - Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS - Epic EMR experience required - Must be able to perform titration of critical drips and manage advanced airway equipment - No permanent employees of the associated health system within the past 1 year - No candidates with a medical marijuana card - Not open to first-time travelers Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-629598.
