Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/24/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN with at least 2 years of experience and current MO or compact RN license for a Level I Trauma Center. Responsibilities - Work in the Neuro ICU of a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital - Patient population includes ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, neuromuscular and seizure disorders, CNS infections, intracranial pressure monitoring, and neurotrauma cases - Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 - Handles specialized equipment including EVDs, bolts, and arterial/central lines - Performs specialized procedures such as vasoactive medication administration, CRRT, hypothermia/hyperthermia management, and spinal precautions - Uses Epic for charting and Epic experience is required - Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week (19:00–07:30) - Weekend work required every other weekend - No on-call requirements - Floating within service line and possibly to affiliate hospitals is required - Daily responsibilities include managing complex neurocritical patients and supporting advanced monitoring and interventions - Team-based environment with strong interdisciplinary support - Orientation includes completion of required education modules and stroke education - Navy blue scrubs are required - Parking passes are available for a fee; night shifters may park for free in designated lots - Facial hair must allow for fit testing, or shaving will be required for testing compliance - No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off permitted the first week of assignment - Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as travelers - Assignments can last up to 18 months for travelers, followed by a 3-month break Requirements - Active MO or compact RN license required at the time of consideration - Minimum of 2 years recent Neuro ICU experience required - Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS - Will need to pass a Relias EKG exam, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Epic EMR experience required - Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility - First-time travelers accepted - Must complete 10 hours of stroke education during orientation (NIHSS counts toward this if taken in the current year) Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624111.
