Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/01/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position requiring a MO or compact RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and prior telemetry and IV start experience. Responsibilities - Hospital setting with assignments floating to all medical, surgical, renal, oncology, cardiology, and neuro units - Med/Surg and telemetry patient population with adult cases - Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5–6 on days/weekends and 1:6 on nights - Uses EPIC for charting; relevant EMR experience is required - Night shift, 3x12 hours per week, 18:45–07:15 - Every other weekend required or a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period, with holiday rotation obligation - No on-call required - Ceiling lifts, lift devices, and bladder scanner used (training provided) - Floating required to various medical units as assigned - May be pre-assigned to a specific unit for part of contract, communicated prior to assignment - Float pool RNs will call a recorded line up to 1 hour prior to shift to receive daily unit assignment - Short-term acute care environment with team-based nursing support - Required to participate in holiday rotations as scheduled - Free parking available on-site - Navy blue scrubs required - Fit testing required for all staff - First-time travelers are accepted - Travelers may remain up to 18 months before a 3-month break is required Requirements - Active MO or compact RN license required - Minimum of 2 years RN experience, Med/Surg and telemetry experience required - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required - IV start and telemetry experience required - NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred - Experience with EPIC EMR is required - Facial hair must allow for proper fit testing, or willingness to shave for testing - No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius - Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract; no RTO in first week - Permanent former employees must wait 1 year before returning as travelers Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628404.
