Campus Center Surgical and Wound Care - 3rd Floor The Surgical and
Wound Care Clinic at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis provides
specialized treatment for complex and non-healing wounds, including
diabetic foot ulcers, burns, and radiation tissue damage. The
multidisciplinary team offers advanced therapies such as hyperbaric
oxygen therapy, low-frequency ultrasound, and pulsed lavage. The
clinic also provides ostomy care and pressure mapping services to
aid in wound prevention and management. For minor surgical
procedures, same-day appointments are available by physician

Plastics. The center is staffed with Advanced Practice Nurses with
a collaborative practice agreement with the Burn/Trauma Services
and Colorectal Physicians. The center provides excellent,
compassionate wound and ostomy care to individuals consistent with

Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care
activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning
implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the
standards of nursing care. Responsibilities - Promotes patient and
family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients
and their families on how to manage their illness or injury,
including post treatment home care needs and medication
administration. - Participates in activities that promote patient
safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in
professional development. - Develops, implements, and documents
individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with
other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or
caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and
standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures
