Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/01/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step Down Unit position with day shifts and a requirement for 2 years of recent bedside experience. Responsibilities - Work in an acute care hospital Step Down Unit - Day shifts, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30 - Nursing ratio of 1:4 - Patients include those requiring titration of vasopressors, sedation medication, insulin drips, trach vents, art lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes - Required to work two shifts every other weekend - No on-call responsibilities - Staff may float to lower acuity floors as needed - EPIC EMR is used; EPIC experience required - Floating may occur within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby - Responsibilities include managing complex patients and titration of critical IV medications - Team members are required to wear navy scrubs - No cost for parking at the facility - No return travelers accepted if employed within the last 12 months at this health system - Travelers may remain up to 18 months with a mandatory 3-month break thereafter - Up to 7 days of requested time off permitted in a 13-week contract, with no time off during the first week - Fit testing is required; facial hair must allow for a proper mask fit Requirements - Active MO or compact RN license required - BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required - Minimum of 2 years of recent Step Down or similar acute care experience - Bedside nursing experience within the last 6 months is required - Experience required with ventilators, titration of pressors, and insulin drips - No first-time travelers accepted - Must reside outside of a 75-mile radius from the facility - References from supervisors within the last two years are required for consideration Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-629582.
