Pension Plan The BJH Surgical and Wound Care Center (SWCC) is a
part of the nationally recognized BJC HealthCare Organization and
located at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. SWCC provides acute and chronic
wound and ostomy care, pre-surgical ssessment, post-surgical
follow-up including bedside debridements, biopsies, advanced wound
care, application of skin substitutes, and ordering diagnostic
testing as needed. The SWCC works closely with Vascular, Podiatry,
Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics, Ortho foot/ankle, Colorectal,
Oncology/Oncology surgery, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, along with
multiple other services. The center is staffed with Advanced
Practice Nurses who have a collaborative practice agreement with
the Acute and Critical Care Services (general and trauma surgeons).

consistent with their complex wound/ostomy needs. We strive to

care, education, healing, and research. Overview Preferred
Qualifications Role Purpose The Nurse Practitioner is an advanced
practice nurse who utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and
competence in a specialized patient care area. This position
assesses, diagnose, prescribes, initiates plan of care and
evaluates outcomes within the scope of a formal collaborative
practice agreement with physician(s). Responsibilities Participates
in professional development Manages the health care of patient
populations with compassion through advanced health assessment,
diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation in a collaborative practice
agreement with a physician. Prescriptive responsibilities are
reviewed by collaborative physician. Coordinates the care of
patient populations, in a collaborative practice agreement with a
physician, to ensure promotion of health and wellness through
education of patients and families, coordination of services and
placing referrals. Assesses development needs of staff and develops
and delivers appropriate educational programs to meet staff needs.
Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems
including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined
protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
Minimum Requirements Education Master's Degree - Nursing(Accredited
NP Program) Experience Supervisor Experience No Experience Licenses
