SalaryMinimum: $41,626.00Maximum: $56,888.00Nature of WorkiIncumbents in this position enforce laws, ordinances and regulations related to environmental sanitation and participate in after-hours disaster response teams to control environmental problems.iFor an additional description of this position, please refer to theiclassification specification for Environmental Health OfficerMinimum QualificationsiA Bacheloris degree which included at least 30 hours of basic science coursework and a math or statistics class; plus two years of experience working in environmental health.iiORian equivalent combination of education, training and experience.License: iMust possess and maintain a validiMissouriidriveris license while employed by the City ofiSt. Louis.i Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request.i Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.iCertification:iiMust be able to obtain Registered Environmental Health Specialist / Registered Sanitarian Certification from the National Environmental Health Association within eleven months of hire as a condition of successfully completing working test period. Incumbents must also successfully complete training in Hotel, Motel and Childcare License Inspections, Certified Pool Operator Inspections and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) during working test period.Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted upon request.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:iiA degree in Environmental Health from a program accredited by the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council.i CEHT certification by NEHA.When completing the Employment History and the Educational/Training History sections of the Employment Application, please be as thorough as possible when describing your education, training and experience relating to this position. Your employment experience and training will be used to determine whether you meet the entrance requirements for this position and to compute your experience and training evaluation.
