The successful candidate will work effectively with senior business area leadership as well as business development, technical and functional entities to achieve business unit and segment financial goals by engaging customers, identifying potential business opportunities, and supporting business unit strategic growth activities. The Government Geospatial Systems Business Development Manager will focus on developing customer relationships and motivating new business within the National Geospatial Agency, Combatant commands and other associated customers. They will be responsible for shaping requirements, and promoting Harris solutions to address tough customer problem sets. They will be a critical member of the Harris team responsible for a key customer account within the Geospatial Business. The responsibilities of this position include: - Work with the Intelligence Community Customer(s) to understand key mission problem sets and gaps. Promote Harris solutions to drive new business for Harris. - Significantly contribute to Harris Business Strategies - Lead specific business pursuits and associated investment needed to close on pursuits. - Establish and maintain personal relationships with key Intelligence Community Customer(s). - Brief out to Harris management status of efforts - Report back the voice of Customer influencer and key decision makers to the Harris team to further refine market offerings and product developments opportunities - Responsible to grow the Business Area pipeline with new leads and opportunities that support the business area strategic growth plans Strategic Planning - Help identify new markets, unmet needs and opportunities - Work with world leading engineers and scientists to shape internal research & development projects to shape future concepts and provide solutions to customers Customer Intimacy - Identify and engage with key customers in government and commercial sectors - Develop customer relationship strategies Technology Understanding - Translate technical understanding of products and technology for purposes of customer communication and engagement. - Understand and influence the business unit strategy with customer perspectives Change Agent - Act as a change agent for the business, ensuring strategies and campaigns are mission and customer focused. Business Rhythm - Support the day-to-day business rhythm and reporting - Responsible for execution, effectiveness of ID, qualification, pursuit, pre-proposal and proposal processes for Government Geospatial Systems business area - Manage business area discretionary budget - Organize participation in forums/conferences to further position Harris as a thought leader - Represent Harris Corporation at customer meetings, Industry related meetings and conferences Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or higher with a minimum of 12 years of experience or post-graduate degree and 10 years of experience. Engineering degree preferred. - 5-10 years of experience working in the Intelligence Community on Geospatial Ground processing and analytics systems - Experience working and familiarity with the National Geospatial Agency; Experience working with Combatant Commands and other Intelligence agencies desired - Established contacts with the National Geospatial Agency and Intelligence/DoD Community - Minimum of 5+ years experience performing Business Development and/or Capture within the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense - Experience with Geospatial technical capabilities and systems in the Intelligence Community and DoD Preferred Additional Skills: - Disciplined, self-starting professional who can bring projects to closure with minimum direction, guidance and oversight - Experience leading programs/projects - Ability to lead and develop relationships with geographically dispersed people - Demonstrated ability in competitive analysis, customer analysis, win strategy development, proposal and color team leadership and price-to win analysis. - Must have excellent oral and written communication skills - Proficiency with Microsoft office tools Please be aware that many of our positions require a security clearance.
