Hiring Department University of Missouri- St. Louis Missouri Institute of Mental Health JOB DESCRIPTION Substance Use Data Programmer and Manager The Missouri Institute of Mental Health (a research institute at the University of Missouri-St. Louis) has received a new 2-year grant from the Missouri Department of Mental Health (SAMHSA funds) for the State Opioid Response (SOR) project. This project will develop and provide opioid misuse prevention, treatment, and recovery support services for the purposes of addressing the opioid use and overdose crisis within the state. The Substance Use Data Programmer and Manager will support functions for these statewide, federally-funded projects to ensure goals and objectives specified for the programs are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. This position may function as the Lead Data Programmer on multiple projects. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILISTIES Key Responsibilities --- Manage and support treatment-related data collection, cleaning, and reporting --- Assist the Lead Evaluator with state billing and service data management, coding, creating graphical and tabular information presentations --- Develop and validate SAS/R programs --- Perform all programming tasks required to support grant evaluation and implementation activities --- Conduct SAS/R programming to support complex data manipulation and management --- Performs data integrity and quality checks --- Ensure documentation and consistent maintenance of code, logs and output within a regulated computing environment --- Generates potential solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedence --- Provides project input and recommendations --- Communicates results of analysis in straightforward language to non-academic audiences QUALIFICATIONS Education --- BA/BS degree required, MS degree desired or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary . Experience --- Minimum of 6 years (w/B.S.) or 4 years (M.S.). --- SAS/R and programming experience. --- Experience with programming development, validation, execution, maintenance, documentation, and archival of data is required.
